The Mortal Tome

The Mortal Tome allows users to manipulate a personalized database of up to a billion characters with my HTML, PHP, and SQL files. I purposefully arranged the simple design for individuals to benefit from this website with ease! Currently, the system allows for specific attributes such as unique names, professions, skill levels, workplaces, cities, and factions. However, the database is still under development as I hope to allocate more effort to other details, such as additional attributes and buttons. 

If you are updating, all you need is the zip file. The SQL file will be left alone and your database will be unchanged. 

How To Use

1. Download XAMPP from this website: https://www.apachefriends.org/ 

2. Download my linked zip folder and extract it (take out The Mortal Tome from within the extracted folder. What you DON'T want is "/TheMortalTome/TheMortalTome")

3. Put the extracted folder in the htdocs folder underneath XAMPP in the file directory. 

It should look like this XAMPP/htdocs/TheMortalTome

4. Open XAMPP Control Panel and run Apache and MySQL

Note: Apache uses ports 80 and 443, so if you have another program using these ports Apache will not run and neither will The Mortal Tome

5. Type in the address bar of your browser: http://localhost/phpmyadmin

(here you'll need to press "New" and type "the-mortal-tome" as the new database name until I update the sql file to do that automatically)

6. Click on "Import" at the top of the page and choose the database or .sql file linked here, then hit "Import" at the bottom

7. Type in the address bar of your browser and bookmark it:

http://localhost/TheMortalTome/TheMortalTome.html
